Upgrade your AKAI MPC 3000 to the latest firmware version, Vailixi V3.50. This upgrade will unlock additional functions and features so you can get the most out of your MPC 3000
Install Instructions
1. Shut down your MPC 3000 and disconnect power
2. Remove screws from the back and bottom.
3. Remove the top of the unit and prop it up against something ensuring it doesn't fall and damage an cables.
4. Find chips "IC13" and "IC14" as shown in the pictures. These are the chip you need to swap. Be sure to note the orientation of the notch on the chip.
Recommended - Take a picture now, just in case you forget which way the notch faces!
5. Pull the chips straight out with the chip puller tool ensuring not to bend any pins.
6. Install the new chips in the same slots ensuring you have the notches pointing in the same direction.
Note - You may need to carefully bend the chip legs slightly to align them with the socket holes.
7. Reinstall the cover, power up. The screen should say "Vailixi 3.50". Enjoy!
Installation Video - A youtuber in this video shows a walk though of the installation procedure although he uses a screwdriver to remove the old eproms. Use the chip puller for safer removal.
